The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has taken steps to revise fuel prices with effect from midnight yesterday (30).
Accordingly, the price of a liter of Lanka White Diesel will increase by Rs. 15 and its new price is Rs. 289.
The price of a liter of 92 octane petrol will increase by Rs. 12 and its new price is Rs. 305.
The price of Lanka Kerosene has also been increased by Rs. 07 and its new price is Rs. 185.
The prices of 95 octane petrol and Lanka Super Diesel will remain unchanged.
The common people are saying that the government has taken steps to increase oil prices without fear now that there are no elections.
They also say that the increase in diesel prices is expected to indirectly affect the price of goods again.
Fishermen who had hoped that the price of crude oil would decrease have now been disappointed, they say.
