The most common fish that have come to the Pitipana fish market in Negombo are salaya and poochcho (kumbala ).
Even today, salaya is priced between Rs. 250 and Rs. 300 per kilo
Kumbala fry (poochcho) is sold for between Rs. 400 and Rs. 450 per kilo
The price of linna does not seem to have changed much
Today, a kilo is priced between Rs. 650 and Rs. 750.
Balaai is also available for Rs. 600. Today, a kilo of lokubalai is priced at Rs. 900.
