It is a notorious secret that during the Lansa family’s joint rule, a huge number of unauthorized constructions have been allowed and supported in Negombo.
In two committee meetings held last week, there was a discussion that this matter should be given significant attention.
In the Industries Committee, its Chairman Sangith Perera and in the House Property, Management and Legal Affairs Committee, Gayan Madhumihira, an independent member, had also raised the issue of these unauthorized constructions.
However, the relevant government officials should do their duty without delay in this matter because the huge number of unauthorized constructions needs to be investigated urgently.
