YMCA World Challenge 2017 is conducted around the world on 03rd June 2017. This is to mark the YMCA founder’s day. This year the World Alliance of YMCAs based in Geneva coordinates playing Basketball by the YMCAs in the world.
The game of Basketball is very significant to YMCA because,the game was introduced by the YMCA 125 years ago.
Speaking about this event Mr. Nimantha Hettiarachchi the President of Pamunugama YMCA said; “The Settappaduwa, Pamunugama YMCA also joining this world event by playing Basketball at YMCA premises on 03rd June 2017” and he invites all the children,youth, men and women to play Basketball and be part of the YMCA World Challenge 2017.
